Alice in Wonderland Adaptation - Johnny Depp to play the Mad Hatter. Tim Burton has once again chosen to cast Johnny Depp in one of his films, this time as the Mad Hatter in a new adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". link

The Hippie Hippie Shake - Misadventures in London at the end of the 1960s from a Richard Neville book that is starring Sienna Miller.

Wax On, Wax Off. Sienna's nude body wasn't exactly "historically acurate", so she's got a computer-generated enhancement to reflect the look of the sixties. (Look at me being all delicate and shite.) Release date is this summer.

Dali & I: The Surreal Story (2009) with Al Pacino as Salvador Dali...? I'm sure he'll sell it like the big star that he is, but right now it's a little hard to imagine.

and all the Johnny Depp ones below... especially Shantaram. Synopsis: "A heroin addict incarcerated for a robbery escapes prison and reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums." He seems to always get first pick at the good movies or now with his production company, Infinitum Nihil.

Next For Johnny Depp

Warner Bros. is teaming with Depp's Infinitum-Nihil and Graham King's GK Films to develop a feature based on the '60s daytime supernatural sudser "Dark Shadows."

Depp, who is coming off "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and who just wrapped the Tim Burton-directed "Sweeney Todd," is next expected to star in "Shantaram," a Mira Nair directed adaptation of the Gregory David Roberts novel that Depp, King and Plan B are producing for Warner Bros. Depp, King and WB are also mobilizing to make a film about the life of Alexander Litvinenko, with Depp poised to play the former KGB agent, who was fatally poisoned.

The late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson's ashes will be blown out of a canon on Saturday 20th August in Woody Creek, Colorado - and DiS has world exclusive pictures.

The journalist and author will be blasted from the gonzo shaped device, Thompson's signature fist and dagger symbol, by his friend Johnny Depp.

Other guests expected include Sean Penn, Bill Murray and Jack Nicholson.

A security guard at the site said: "Saturday's going to be crazy, the sheriffs are going to be looking after a lot of A-listers coming up to Woody Creek."

Johnny Depp will exec produce as well as star in another Hunter S. Thompson work -- "The Rum Diary", Hunter S Thompson's novel about boozing and carousing in Puerto Rico in the 1950s. Bruce Robinson, of "Withnail & I," will direct. Also stars Benicio del Toro, Josh Hartnett, Nick Nolte. Can not wait to see this one. imdb

Reading about Julian Schnabel on the internet I see he's currently working on a new movie which stars Johnny Depp, in the role of editor Jean-Dominique Bauby, who, in 1995 at the age of 43, suffered a stroke that paralyzed his entire body. The film, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, is from his book of the same name, in which he used the only tool available to him--his left eye--with which he blinked out its letters and someone typed the words. What a challenging role this will be from a man who maintained his dignity after suffering such a severe stroke. (He has since passed.) The film is tentatively scheduled for a 2006 release.

**Schnabel also directed the delightful Jeffrey Wright in his portrayal of Basquiat.

The Johnny Depp film, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, a remake of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, is holding auditions this Saturday in Asheville, NC, at Dillard's at the Asheville Mall from 3-7. The casting director is looking first in Western North Carolina before she searches elsewhere. The film will be directed by Tim Burton and begins filming in London this summer. Casting is for a 13 year old boy whose name is Mike Teevee, and a 10-12 year old girl, named Violet Beauregard; a southern girl who chews a lot of gum. Good Morning to you....

I'd love to shop here and especially on Ebay, collecting old metal lunchboxes. I remember having the generic red plaid lunchbox. It's available for $5-10 now; glad I never bothered to save it. Did you ever use a lunchbox for school?

I just watched Johnny Depp on tv and he talked about capping some of his teeth gold and silver for "Pirates", and he still has them. Some of the movie execs took a dim view of it. He thought of the pirates as the rock stars of that era, and to him, Keith Richards is the greatest rock and roll star of all time, so Keith was the inspiration for his "Pirates" role. {Skye saw it last night with friends.}

Good Morning.....

Having so much rain lately, my almost 15 yo daughter always plays in it. She's begged us to let her play in it since she's been small, and we couldn't really give her a good reason not to. So each time it pours, she runs and laughs and has the best time; walks around the block, or thru the woods, or rides her bike. It's such a joy to watch her free spirit dance and play in the rain.

Speaking of Johnny Depp yesterday: Customs officials found stuffed pirahnas and a dead vampire bat in Johnny Depp's luggage on a flight back from Peru. [Page Six Pic ]

When we cannot help but notice how millions of progressive love-minded Gay Pride folks across America, from S.F. to N.Y., from Atlanta to Seattle to Chicago, were actually cheering on the Supreme Court last week -- the same crusty bunch that snuck BushCo into office in the first place -- for slapping the tragically heartless GOP right across its wan butt with a leather whip and a shocking 6-3 decision, stunning the Christian right into disbelief and abject terror. Not to mention Canada's gay marriage, and maybe even how the United Kingdom, too, is one step away from legalizing gay unions, and the poor GOP is feeling the slope toward calm debauchery and delicious godlessness getting slippery indeed. Can I get a hell yeah.
