Who Are You Not To Be Fabulous?

Monday, May 23, 2011

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves - who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are you to not be so?

For those around us to feel peace, it is not example to make ourselves small. While we allow our light to shine, we unconsciously give permission for others to do the same. When we liberate ourselves from our own fears, simply our presence may liberate others."

--Marianne Williamson

We are travellers in a cosmic journey

Saturday, May 23, 2009

We are travellers in a cosmic journey - star dust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. But the expressions of life are ephemeral, momentary, transient.

Buddha once said "This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is like a flash of lightning in the sky."

We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment, but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. If we share with caring, light heartedness and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile.

You are brilliant, and the earth is hiring

YOU ARE BRILLIANT, AND THE EARTH IS HIRING

Basically, the earth needs a new operating system, you are the programmers, and we need it within a few decades.

This planet came with a set of operating instructions, but we seem to have misplaced them. Important rules like don’t poison the water, soil, or air, and don’t let the earth get overcrowded, and don’t touch the thermostat have been broken. Buckminster Fuller said that spaceship earth was so ingeniously designed that no one has a clue that we are on one, flying through the universe at a million miles per hour, with no need for seatbelts, lots of room in coach, and really good food, but all that is changing.

There is invisible writing on the back of the diploma you will receive, and in case you didn’t bring lemon juice to decode it, I can tell you what it says: YOU ARE BRILLIANT, AND THE EARTH IS HIRING.

ADP - Bob Dylan has given the go-ahead for a big-screen movie about his life. Director Todd Haynes is searching for a black woman to play Dylan -- she will be one of seven different actors who will portray the musician during different eras of his career. Todd Haynes, the Oscar-nominated director, confirmed last week that he is searching for a woman who can do justice to the short white Jewish singer’s 'inner blackness', although the producers aren't convinced. Costing £30m, the film is due for release next year under the title, I’m Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Dylan. [more...] (ADP-Another Dylan Post)

In your beauty, how to make poems.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Sending much love to my son and daughter today and always.

Still driving each other insane after all these years. Freshly brewed coffee, truffles, cards and flowers were waiting for me on my desk this morning. And here I thought we weren't even speaking to each other. I made him a carrot cake for his Valentine's treat. But he just gets a nibble. Of cake. [picture: capnwacky via: presurfer ]

I'd like to concur with GoFish and also celebrate the newly married folks in San Francisco. What a joyous time for you all.

As gay marriage wins even more legal support, Bible-clutching homophobes recoil, violently. The gays are marching in. The end is near. Sheer unadulterated evil and scary anal sex and superlative hair products and new blasts of fresh happy love are to be unleashed anew upon the country. Horror is nigh. Everyone into the bunker.

It's a global truism: The more passionately religious you are, the more hateful and small minded you become, and the more desperate you are to convince everyone else that Satan himself is at the door, carrying nothing but a whip and a sinister grin and a big bottle of Astroglide. If we can't just all get along, can we at least subscribe to 'Live and Let Live'?

::Does This Blog Make My Ass Look Fair And Balanced? Fox News filed suit against humorist Al Franken, and Lisa at Ruminate This decided to go with a new tagline on her website. I may change my tagline from "Does This Blog Make My Ass Look Big?" to "Does This Blog Make My Ass Look Fair And Balanced?" This exercise is reminiscent of Davezilla and a company that sent him the 'cease and desist' letter for using a picture similar to Mozilla's logo on his site. Soon blogtopia was inundated with "zillas" in his support.

I clicked on a blog a few days ago, and while I was reading on my 'sadu' (slow-ass dial-up), there were 109 items remaining or still loading. One hundred and nine more items to wait on. This wasn't one of those great sites with beautiful art work links and displays. This was content I was waiting on. Words. I've got one word for you folks... DUMBASS! ARCHIVES! Make some more pages. I suppose I could spring for a cable modem or gasp!, something faster. Our rule of thumb around here is this: the internet and it's monthly $$ amount shouldn't excede the cable tv monthly $$ amount. So help a 'sadu' blogger out, won't ya?

Good Morning!

Wanting to move closer to the city, we've put our house up for sale. I've never really liked this house much, but we got a pretty good deal and jumped on it. We're hoping to wrap it up by the end of summer in case we move in to a different school district. Even if we have to rent until our house is sold. We're taking a leap. Have you ever moved to someplace and thought, "I'm never moving again. This is my last stop."?

This morning, when I turned on my computer, the hard drive sounded tired and droopy. And the desktop was slow loading. I have defrag, and other stuff set up nightly, to insure a healthy hard drive. But it's 3 1/2 years old and it's been road hard and put up wet, as they say in the South. Beaucoup surfing and keyboarding going on. So if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, my pc's run out of steam. And I sure as hell don't have the bucks to lay down for a new pc right now.

Happy Birthday to my bestest buddy, Dena, today. Although she may never see this as she's not a web head like me.

Chickenhawk Cards look kinda fun.

ABOUT EBC

It wasn't long after 9/11, September 11, 2001, that I began this website. I felt compelled to connect with other people around the globe. I had recently heard about "weblogs" or "blogs" and I dove right into Blogger.com. I searched for others to connect with online and I found Ageless. It led to meeting many great friends to discuss events of the day. From then on it snowballed. Most importantly we offered one another support and friendship across the globe; finding that we were just a few keystrokes away.
