A little odd to see Bobby in long straight hair singing about Santa but with this bordello-type spin on it, it's not bad. It's from his first ever Christmas album, Christmas In The Heart.

All of the artist's U.S. royalities from sales of these recordings will be donated to Feeding America, guaranteeing that more than four million meals will be provided to more than 1.4 million people in need this year's holiday season.

Dylan Records Surprise 'Modern Times' Follow-up

Dark new disc with a bluesy border-town feel arrives in April

"I'm listening to Billy Joe Shaver/And I'm reading James Joyce/Some people tell me I got the blood of the land in my voice,"

Bob Dylan sings in a leathery growl, capturing the essence of his forthcoming studio album — raw-country love songs, sly wordplay and the wounded state of the nation — in "I Feel a Change Coming On," one of the record's 10 new originals.

Set for late April, the as-yet-untitled album arrives a few months after Dylan's outtakes collection Tell Tale Signs, and it "came as a surprise," says a source close to Dylan's camp.

Dylan Movie Update

Dylan Movie to Open Like a Rolling Premiere

I'll say. Rolling it out to only 4 theaters on November 21. But this method's worked for the filmmaker before.

Harvey Weinstein offers a violent demonstration of faith in "I'm Not There"'s Oscar attractions to John Anderson in the New York Times.

"I may be jumping the gun," Mr. Weinstein said, "but if Cate Blanchett doesn't get nominated, I'll shoot myself."

The movie has Dylan's blessing, but I'm a little skeptical of this actress playing Bob Dylan. Can you imagine selling that idea to the movie people? "... and yeah, are you ready for it? We're getting Cate Blanchett to play Bob in the early years... What?"

I know I think Bob Dylan whenever I look at that frail, pale, lovely lady but if they can pull this off, I may eat my Bob Dylan records. Well, maybe just the John Wesley Harding one.

The Twyla Tharp musical that uses songs by pop superstar Bob Dylan will close Nov. 19 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre, after a brief run. Halle-fuckin-lujah. How could this NOT have been a real suckfest? Bob Dylan on Broadway? Come on. I don't care what he said in the interviews, he hated it, too. He WILL bullshit an interviewer.

I loved every minute of this groundbreaking series of a family self-destructing live. And there's Andy Kaufman, the El Topo screenplay, Mad Magazine's parody, "A Crockwork Lemon", the Doors, The Rolling Stones have some clips there, although they had to take down Cocksucker Blues, which I still haven't seen. link

HOTEL CHELSEA BLOG
Have you seen the Hotel Chelsea, Living With Legends blog? What a mighty fine niche for blogdom. I had the opportunity to stay there one summer and it's just as fabulous and decandant as it wants to be and still rocking with interesting stories.

ftp: At least once a week the blog receives an e-mail from a reader who writes, "How can I move into the legendary Hotel Chelsea?" Well, we snuck in via a sublet. If that fails, there is an apartment available in the East Village that a blog reader or two might be interested in renting. It's a two bedroom apartment in the building that graced the album cover of the '75 Led Zeppelin album, Physical Graffiti.

The website has stories of the current residents, like musician Tim Sullivan, who's lived there since 1982 and former residents as Rufus Wainwright, Patti Smith, William Burroughs, Arthur C Clarke, Mark Twain, Jimi, Janis, Dylan Thomas, and many other writers, artists, and musicians.

Release Date: July 22, 1963? That's disputable. There are at least 3 different back covers of the album. I have the "Titles On Back" cover.

While visiting my old home place I looked through some of my old albums I asked my Mother to keep safe for me; after a few too many methaqualone do si dos and drinking games had left many vinyl treasures broken and spent.

I pulled out a few albums from their covers and researched them on Ebay with one eye towards my dream of sailing around the world and the other eye on it's ugly step-sister, reality. With so many variables on this particular Beatles' record-- (cover, sleeve, song selection and label,) and it's 'lovingly listened to' condition, I think I'll just hang onto it.

» Only $2.99 for Zappa's 200 Motels Soundtrack from 1971? But Ringo Starr is Larry the Dwarf. 2 lps and a booklet, too, and the booklet is priceless. 2 by gawd dollars and 99 frickin' cents.

» Blonde On Blonde and Ebay asks $7.49 for my favorite Dylan album.

That's always the way. Captain, unhoist those sails. Stuff I think should be worth more is given away while I'm amazed at the high prices on some generic crap.
