Politkovskaya is a true hero, who lost her life in intrepidly uncovering the truth, knowing full well the danger and likely outcome of doing so. Her term "The Conservation of Evil" is one of the finest I've heard to define the modern Orwellian world-wide situation, where politicians around the world use fear and terror to consolidate their own positions of power by having the populace rally around them using the tribal mentality where in return the populace are offered a false protection racket which only endangers them and costs the lives of thousands.
