Syrian forces murdered journalist Marie Colvin after pledging to kill "any journalist who set foot on Syrian soil", it has emerged.
Tributes are pouring in for Sunday Times foreign correspondent Marie Colvin who has been killed during an attack in Homs in Syria. Link
French photojournalist Remi Ochlik was also killed after shells reportedly hit a makeshift media centre in Baba Amr.
Her last report can be read here.
Is this what it fucking takes for people to read the reports she had recently filed? Sadly, Marie was usually the only journalist that was inside that circle of death in Homs.

Assad, like father like son. Both butchers of Homs. I tried to visit Syria a year ago, but didnt have a visa, because it would have expired before arrival. An absurdly annoying technicality that has troubled many others. I waited for 4 or 5 hours at the border terminal next to a rich businessman from the UK who had just arrived from one of his businesses in Dubai. The businessman called up his friends in Damascus and soon had the control people begging him sycophantically for forgiveness like it was the Monty Python yesman skit. For me it was go back, youre just an ordinary person. I quickly realised the way things were working there. A Lebanese Australian whome I met in Jordan told me Assad would do exactly what he is doing right now without remorse. The Bush admin thought alike they were going to take out a hotel full of international journalists in Baghdad, but didnt at the last minute perhaps due to mounting international opposition to the invasion, instead they took out another hotel with mostly al jazeera journalists accross the street as a warning. Its all extremely messed up, in the end the people are all just treated as pawns. I do fear though as usual that foreign military intervention, and ulterior motives could even make matters worse. Perhaps though the UN could lead some sort of major opporation without NATO, that in my opinion would at least maintain some semblance international will.
I always like hearing about your personal experiences from around the world. I only know from what I read and hear and I don't put any trust in the US media when it comes to international events. Specifically concerning the ME.
Marie Colvin was one of those brave journalists whom I could trust.
