I'm back after a belated Christmas visit with my family. The whole experience was delightful. We kept the hellish arguments to a minimum and the yelling and cussing to a mild roar. I still sang 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' on the drive over like I do every year; dear daughter played 'Name that Roadkill'. The best thing was seeing my sister and Mother. Next best thing was looking through very old photo albums of my grandmother's I hadn't seen since I was small.

Memory
God gave us memories that we might have roses in December.
~J.M. Barrie, Courage, 1922

Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.
~Pierce Harris, Atlanta Journal

Memory... is the diary that we all carry about with us.
~Oscar Wilde

UPDATE: 12:15 pm

Haven't given out my "Dickhead Award" in quite some time. The award is presented to someone in the news who's done something so radically stupid that you want to say, "What a dickhead". The honor goes to the Tennessee officers who shot and killed this family's dog while they were mistakenly stopped as suspects in a felony. The officers pulled him over and the passengers were ordered out of the car and handcuffed. Then they drew their guns on this family returning from a family visit. The dogs travelling with them also jumped out, as the family pleaded to let them close their car doors, and one officer shot the family pet's head right off in front of them all. Said the daughter, "I had never seen my father or brother cry until that day." The family was able to carry home the remains of "Patton" where they buried him in their backyard. This family lives in the next county over from me. CNN is also airing this story.

ABOUT EBC

It wasn't long after 9/11, September 11, 2001, that I began this website. I felt compelled to connect with other people around the globe. I had recently heard about "weblogs" or "blogs" and I dove right into Blogger.com. I searched for others to connect with online and I found Ageless. It led to meeting many great friends to discuss events of the day. From then on it snowballed. Most importantly we offered one another support and friendship across the globe; finding that we were just a few keystrokes away.
